Crab cakes are phenomenal. Stick w the seafood ya cant go wrong. I tried the ribeye pot roast, and I found it very bland. To me gravy should be thick yes but not so thick that all you taste is the flour. Other than that, I've enjoyed every other meal I've had here.

While Hippie Hen House happily brags about their Maryland crab cakes and Ravens' pride; don't be fooled - their food is exemplary, as is their happy, cheerful atmosphere. Mike got a bacon cheeseburger and fries, which he declared to be excellent. I got the 3-soup appetizer (French onion, crab, and corn chowder) with the crab nachos. Holy mother of pearl, was this good on a chilly evening! Kirsten was sweet, friendly, and attentive, ensuring that Mike's glass was always full and that we were enjoying it. We didn't need any boxes, we ate everything there was and left warm and satisfied. Don't miss that short turn off of 17; turn around and go back if you must, but this food and atmosphere is not to be missed! Now I have to go back and try more!

Kristin was an amazing server. Prompt, attentive service. The food is delish. They have a vegan sandwich option and gluten free desserts if you have special food preferences. The vibe is super laid back and cool. And my favorite part was the wrap named after my favorite author. This place is quickly becoming part of our regular rotation.

If I could go higher than 5 stars I would! Excellent service - Kristen was running around like crazy but still keeping up with everyone coming in. Food was delicious - I got the soup flight and salad, and my husband got the salmon blt. We look forward to our next visit!

Hippie Hen House is one of our favorite spots! They have SO many unique and delicious menu options—it’s hard to choose just one. The daily specials are always awesome, and the service is consistently great. Whether you’re in the mood for something classic or feeling adventurous, there’s always something new to try. We frequent this place often and always leave happy. Highly recommend!

One of a kind find. Hippie Hen House has a simple, eclectic vibe offering comfortable, padded booths, chairs and tables, an open bar with multiple flat screens and a classic VW Bug outside. Extensive menu offers made from scratch southern cuisine, fresh baked mason jar desserts, Benjamin’s Bakery pretzels and rolls and their own throwback to their Maryland roots with authentic Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and their own soup recipes. Even their daily specials were a full page of soup, sandwiches, plate specials and enough drink concoctions to shake a chicken at. Our choice was the Smoked Turkey Sandwich with a layer of House-smoked Turkey Breast, melted cheddar cheese, fresh shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, thick strips of hickory smoked bacon and the zesty zip of Alabama White Barbecue sauce on a Brioche Bun. A side of kettle chips comes with it. Not to be outdone, Michelle's Lasagna Soup was a hearty, belly warming bowl of tomatoes, pasta and hamburger topped with a dollop of ricotta cheese. The grand finale was the straight out of the oven peach cobbler mason jar dessert with chunky peaches, cobbler in a naturally sweetened glaze. Front of house manager Natalie and our server Kristin made us feel like family and we couldn’t have had a better experience. And kudos to Natalie’s concept of the lasagna soup. Good food, friendly service and comfortable setting is a true recipe for a return visit.

Hands-down, best crabcakes I’ve ever had. There were so many chunks of crab meat in them. It was like eating a crab leg. I also got a side order of smoked chicken wings, and the flavor in the meat was perfectly smoked. The sauce on the chicken wings accented the smoked meat in just the right manner . The service was amazing and the sides were very good. Definitely would recommend this if you ever get a chance to stop in.
